Results

From the very first use: the teeth glide instead of snagging, and the comb comes out without clumps of torn-out hair.

Over the weeks: less breakage at the ends, so more length retained, and no frizz caused by combing.

In use: each comb is shaped by hand, so the grain and colour vary from one piece to the next.

How to use it

On wet hair, after The Repairing Shampoo

Use The Man Dol’ Comb just before applying The Repairing Mask, or while it is on: the treatment helps the teeth glide through the lengths.

Gently detangle section by section, starting at the ends, then work gradually up towards the roots. Go back to your fingers as soon as you feel resistance, and never force.

Who it’s for

For afro, coily, curly and wavy hair, fine or thick: the wide teeth pass through dense textures, and on fine hair the polished surface prevents static. It also suits locs and protective styles, for parting sections without snagging.

It is included in the Rituel Texture® and its Comb set if you are starting from scratch.

What our customers say

4,9/5, 7 reviews

What they appreciate

Le Peigne de Man Dol' detangles coily hair gently: it glides easily, does not pull and limits breakage. A customer with 4C hair, who had tried many combs and brushes, says she has finally found her favourite comb, and also used it on her daughter's hair, with no tears during detangling. Several find it as beautiful as it is effective, and even more effective combined with the products of the range.

What you should know

One customer took off a star, not for the comb, which she finds very good, but for the tracking of her order and customer service communication. Another describes it as an investment worth making.

The detangling tool of the Rituel Texture®

Detangling is the fourth step of the Rituel Texture®: it is done while The Repairing Mask is on, when the treatment helps the teeth glide through the lengths. Used on dry, bare hair, the comb causes breakage, even in horn.

All your questions about The Man Dol’ Comb, answered

When should I use The Man Dol’ Comb?

On wet hair, after The Repairing Shampoo, just before applying The Repairing Mask or while it is on. Detangle from the ends to the roots, and go back to your fingers as soon as you feel resistance.

Does this comb help limit breakage in coily hair?

Yes. Its wide teeth and polished surface glide through the fibre without snagging: used on hair coated in mask, it detangles without tearing and protects the lengths.

Why is horn good for hair?

Horn is a naturally smooth, anti-static material: it glides without snagging or charging the fibre with static, whereas a plastic comb creates friction. Each comb is polished by hand.

Does the comb make hair grow?

No, no comb makes hair grow. By detangling without breaking, it helps you keep the length you have gained: this is known as length retention.

How do I care for the horn comb?

Clean it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then leave it to air-dry. Avoid soaking it in water or leaving it near a heat source.

Is this comb eco-friendly?

It is made of horn, a natural and biodegradable material. Well looked after, it lasts for years, unlike a plastic comb.
