You almost never look for a hairdresser to cheer you up when you have coily hair: a bad haircut, a break in length. In Bordeaux, the options have long seemed to fall into two categories. Not anymore.
Here are the four salons we recommend, including one partner studio. For maintenance between appointments, our step-by-step tutorial details the six steps of the Rituel Texture®. Elsewhere in France, our coily hair hairdresser directory lists our partner salons.
What we look for in a salon
In training, I tell hairdressers one thing: length is a decision made together. If a client isn't sure about cutting, don't cut, and never cut a style she almost never wears. A hairstyle should be offered based on the woman she wants to embody, not a chart of face shapes. A salon that understands this won't give you any unpleasant surprises in the chair.
